This is an opportunity to upgrade your current Heidelberg press to the highest possible quality control system available. This Image Control console is part of the Prinect group of products from Heidelberg and provides true spectrophotometry of the printed sheets based on actual dots printed rather than just reading color bar densities. In other words, factors such as dot gain become much less of an issue because it is automatically being taken into acount by the system as it reads your actual halftone dots on the printed sheet. This image is then compared to the digital ripped file sent from your pre-press department to the Image Control unit and any descepancies are accounted for in the adjustment of the press ink fountain keys automatically. All this will dramatically decrease make-ready times AND increase the number of sellable sheets in each run by a large margin.
